Not sure how to talk myself out of this absence...
Where to start...
We've had a few wonderful parties the last couple of weeks. Family and friends seem to be willing to take care of us.
The team didn't make it where I wanted them to make it, but still farther than I thought. At least they got beat by the best, or did we beat ourselves?
Budget stuff is going crazy around here. From the state government to the local schools, budget deficits are a reality. Who is going to make up for all the money? Tax season anyone?
The state ball team has been adding some much needed depth and strength to their lineup. If only they could lock up one of the coveted athletes in the area for a long time, even the rest of the career. I know it's a business, but it would be nice to see someone spend all their career in one spot. In this day and age, it's hard to come by, right Brett?
I had an opportunity to have my business partners over for dinner last week. It sure was fun sitting down and having good conversations with people you haven't seen for a few seasons. It truly is hard to catch up with everyone all the time. It is seemingly a never ending battle to catch up with everyone you know, or have known over the course of your life. Your family, the people that filled in for your family when you were away, and the community you surround yourself with now. It's a crazy connection to keep all informed!
We made the last addition, at least I think last, into our basement. I was quite skeptical as to how it would fit. The actual measurement seemed as if it was going to be a little tight, so it was decided to back off 1/4 of an inch. Although it was ordered 1/4 of an inch less, it came the full length...interesting how all that planning and communication between salesmen and customer can go through one ear and out the other. Needless to say, I was afraid it wouldn't work out...but it did, and it looks wonderful. I am now using the tabletop as part of our desk, and I think that everything will work out just fine. More room for MY junk in MY office, right dear? Probably not, but I did decorate quite nicely.
It's nice to have a window in the office...saw a resident rabbit outside the last couple of weeks. It's probably running away from the coyotes we hear at night!
The All-time fantasy league has been fun. As per last week's run, I was 44-45 in a very tough division. Fun stuff, to be sure!
Snowblowing is wonderful. Not sure I should be blowing some of the snowfalls, but it sure seems to take much less time, and definitely less taxing on the body. Thanks, FiL!
Last, but not least...the list has started. I took in a couple flicks this weekend. Movies that can be crossed off that list? Bull Durham, A League of Their Own, Field of Dreams (on BluRay), and part of Sandlot. Still quite a few to go, I better get going...nothing better to do on a 4 day weekend!
